Superior Finishes Inc. is a member of the Manitoba Lean Partners Inc. manufacturing consortium. Superior Finishes has involved its staff in lean manufacturing through C.M.E. Currently, our Production Manager, Jamie Guertin, holds a Green Belt and our Operations Manager, LeeAnn Vann, holds a Black Belt. Our Technical Director, Dr. Gang Hu, holds a Yellow Belt. Our Order Desk and Shipping Receiving are graduating the Yellow Belt June 2nd, 2009.

We have a full buy in from all of our employees, because profit sharing combined with continual improvement equals growth. Responding to market demands, Superior Finishes choses lean manufacturing as a strategy to reduce waste and improve customer service and quality.

Lean manufacturing or lean production, which is often known simply as "Lean," is a production practice that considers expending resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end customer to be wasteful, and thus a target for elimination. Put simply, lean manufacturing is more value with less work. There are varying perspectives on how this is best achieved.
